About Me

HELLO!

I’m Verity James — the voice behind the thee’s, thou’s, and occasional “huh?!” moments.

If you’ve ever opened the King James Bible and felt like you accidentally enrolled in a Shakespearean history course, I get it. I’ve been there, rereading the same verse five times, wondering if “bowels of mercy” was… literal. (Spoiler: not exactly.)

I created Sayeth What?! because I believe the KJV is more than readable — it’s rich. It’s not meant to be a mystery. It’s meant to be understood, loved, and lived. But sometimes, we just need a little help (and maybe a sense of humor) to get there.

So who am I?

I’m a believer, a lifelong Bible reader, and an everyday student of God’s Word — no seminary degree, no perfect track record, just a real passion for helping others connect with Scripture in a deeper (and clearer) way.

I’ve spent years:

  • Studying the KJV with concordances, dictionaries, and patience
  • Comparing translations to better understand what makes the KJV unique
  • Laughing through the confusing parts while holding fast to the truth

This blog isn’t here to shame you for not “getting it.” It’s here to walk with you through the hard verses, celebrate the “aha!” moments, and maybe even make you chuckle along the way.

So whether you’re brand new to the KJV or just looking for a little clarity and community — welcome. You’re in the right place.

With holy curiosity & a side of sass,
Verity James
